Making the right decisions in hazardous situations is only possible with thorough preparation. If your operation involves specific hazards that make an emergency response plan (AGAP) necessary, you need a structured document that clearly and transparently sets out organisational procedures, responsibilities and technical mitigation measures.

If your operation is subject to the extended obligations of the 12th BImSchV (Major Accidents Ordinance), you operate a tunnel facility, or you are classified as a KRITIS company, then you require an emergency response plan (AGAP).

However, even if your operation is not legally required to prepare an AGAP, you will benefit noticeably from a structured emergency response plan, as it makes it easier for you to return efficiently from crisis mode to normal operations.
