Student Assistant/Working Student

Technical Planning & Control Center Technology

Working student to support project work

… maps and carry out data analyses as an important support for our consultants in project work. You can schedule your working hours flexibly, you work independently, and you are confident using a PC, email and the internet. We also require good knowledge of MS Excel. Experience with MS PowerPoint and MS Word is helpful for the work.

Working student – Technical Planning & Control Center Technology

… the planning and implementation of control centers for critical infrastructures – from industry and airports to municipal emergency response centers. Your tasks include assisting with surveys of existing conditions, feasibility studies and concept development; supporting the preparation of planning documents, specifications and presentations; and providing assistance in technical building services (TGA), in particular for communication, security and automation systems. You will contribute to the development of switching, alarm and redundancy concepts. Your tasks also include researching and documenting standards, guidelines and technical solutions, as well as participating in internal project meetings and workshops.

Practical semester | Internship

… gain an in-depth insight into our work. You will support our team in preparing fire protection / fire brigade / emergency response needs plans and in conducting organizational reviews. This opportunity is particularly suitable for you if, for example, you are studying safety engineering, hazard control, rescue engineering or safety & emergency management and have already successfully completed your first semesters. However, interested students from other degree programs can also gain valuable practical experience with us.

  • Comparison of employer costs for municipal fire service employees under TVöD and civil servants in the intermediate fire service, using the federal state of Baden-Württemberg as an example
  • Impact of mixed duty/integration duty on employee satisfaction and operational processes in German professional fire services
  • Empirical overview of the prevalence of risk analyses for civil protection as a basis for planning by lower disaster management authorities, with particular consideration of BBK methodology
  • Methods for fire protection needs planning in major cities in an international/European comparison
  • Optimizing civil society and political participation in critical decisions in emergency response needs planning

Your profile

Ideally, you have already gained experience in the BOS sector – e.g., through internships, student jobs or operational service. Routine in using MS Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is also desirable.
